Буерак

A Russian sweet darkness from Novosbirisk. 

Is curious to talk about Буерак (Gully), not many Russian bands are highly listened in this side of the pond, but fortunately the internet is making the difference for these talented musicians. 

Буерак has a dark sound balancing it between the darkwave and dream pop, more close to the post-punk sound, i imagine these lads tried to emulate Joy Division or Bauhaus when they decided to set the band together. 

The first album i listened was Скромные Апартаменты (Modest Apartments) and i got hooked by its sweet sound reminding me a bit The Smiths' style, also i got curiosity by the fact that they sing in their mother tongue, Russian language is a bit hard if you are not into the Cyrillic alphabet, but i believe this lads can get you into the language once you start to listen to them. 

Скромные Апартаменты reflects the Russian life style, cold weather and dark atmospheres, Буерак could become one of the biggest indie bands in a near future if we pay enough attention to them, they have a bast selection of records, it's amazing how these lads have been playing since 2014!

Pumpkin Pie: Recipe 

For Samhain. 

I know it's too late to post this recipe, but i want to share it with you because this year Samhain has brought to my family some good stuff besides the reminds of our loved ones who passed away the last year.

So for this recipe and as being a tradition at home we have changed the recipe constantly since 2010, now this Pumpkin Pie has many ingredients and a new crust, we used to made the crust out of butter and cookies, but now we have a better crust.

What you need for the crust is:
-250 gr All purpose flour
-150 gr Butter
-100 gr Powdered sugar
-1 Egg
-1 Pitch of salt
1- Tsp Vanilla

Mix all of these ingredients til' you get a dough , place some oil in the baking pan before setting the crust, bake for about 20 minutes at 150 Celsius degrees. 

For the Pie you will need:
-1 Kg Pumpkin (previously boiled)
-2 Eggs
-1/2 Cup of Table Cream 
-1 can Condensed Milk (to avoid adding sugar)
-1 Tsp Ginger
-1/4 Tsp Cinnamon
-1/8 Tsp Clove
-1/4 Tsp Shredded Nutmeg (I prefer to shred the nutmeg directly before blending)
-1 Tsp Vanilla

So, place all these ingredients into a blender, i like to break the eggs in a different place to make sure we do not have a rotten egg among us and avoid damaging the mix. After mixing all ingredients, take the crust out of the oven and place the mix over, make sure the mix covers 3/4 parts of the crust and then, bake at 150 Celsius degrees for about 40 minutes. 

Place in a dish and you'll get the most delicious Pumpkin pie to haunt your house and offer to the Gods of Samhain.

So as being a Samhain (All Hallows Eve) dessert I give you a song that will stick together with this pie.

Telephone Exchange

A User Manual for a dis-topic age.

Hello, my beloved lads, i have been absent for a while but from now i'll be yours truly to discover new stuff. and saying this i have something new for all of ye. 

As you know my friend Cesar Saldivar has a project called Telephone Exchange, well, now he has released his brand new single called User Manual, i have to say this single is much more friendly and special than the previous first single, but it's cuz this single is shorter, of course it has that krautrock, now Telephone Exchange has placed a spoken word speech, in words of Cesar this song 

"Is about a machine reading out loud his own operation manual, with a few recommendations about how to work on the actual labour schemes." 

With a few references on the music side of the song about Phil Spector's Wall of Sound, the dehumanisation of the human being turning into machines everyday and the nostalgic way to record music, User Manual comes with a "Sunday evening" effect to us, the sound of guitars and drums hit really hard on our mood and the bass (very present) moves all our sensations to the core, the voice. 

With this pack of emotions User Manual comes to bring peace, fill the air with a nostalgic sound. 

In Addition to the promotion, Telephone Exchange is planning a set of live dates for the next year, Cesar has gathered some pals from the prominent indie scene in Mexico City. Plus the album is about to be launched on January 5th, 2019, we have just a few months to pre-order this master piece of avant-garde sounds. 

The release will feature a vast number of surprises and there will be many different and special editions for collectors, a digital and vinyl edition produced by Cesar's own recording  El Cochinero Record and Ongakubaka Recrods in USA and some special editions in cassete edited by the Monterrey (Mexico) label Cintas, these editions will feature a stereo mix and a super mono mix ready to be listened with total headphones.
