IDLES

Making Punk Rock Great Again.

So, 2018 feels like a while ago, but we still have some refreshing tunes from last year and of course a new post. 

IDLES is a band from Bristol, UK, known for their energetic and explosive live shows and their chaotic style, close to post-punk  and hardcore. They have released two albums and a ton of singles and Extended Plays since their creation in 2011, being BRUTALISM their debut album, released in March 10th, 2017, exposing a complete new idea of punk, a protest. In 2018 they gave us Joy As An Act Of Resistance, with a little bit of darkness inside and a powerful message with humanitarian ideas.

But also, IDLES is beginning the year with a tour around the Commonwealth, Europe and the USA, promoting their most recent album.

What i got from IDLES is that dark perspective of the world situation mixed with their sound, it feels like some kind of mixture between The Jesus Lizard and Joy Division (i'm such a big fan of those bands too). I feel their debut album is the best one, plus having a concrete style and showing a mature group of lads going straight. their second album seems to repeat a lil' bit but still has that scent, but with more violence on it, adding some violence can make the difference between a slow-dark album and a bright punch in the face.

That's why i love what they do, a complete set of  angst, pain and power.
